Description

Protective armour for jukendo (銃剣道), the Japanese martial art of the wooden bayonet rifle (mokuju). This is not a kendo set: it comes with a single kote, as jukendo requires. Model 18 from a Japanese maker's catalogue. 3 mm stitching gives thin, dense padding that holds its shape and does not restrict movement. Men: duralumin grille, futon trimmed in navy synthetic leather with a kumo-gata ("cloud") edge. Do: black Yamato do made from impact-resistant Toray Amilan nylon, styled as 50 bamboo slats. Kote: navy synthetic leather head with namako ridges, brown palm, futon in navy synthetic leather with a kumo-gata edge. Tare: five rows of decorative stitching, navy synthetic leather trim with a kumo-gata edge. Includes men, do, one kote and tare, with navy himo. The shoulder guard (kata) is sold separately.
