For kendoka who already compete and want armour that keeps up at a fast pace. KAI is machine stitched on the diagonal (naname-zashi) at a 5 mm pitch. That makes the padding thinner and denser than on 6–7 mm sets. The armour holds its shape and restricts your shoulders and arms less. It absorbs strikes a little more firmly than thick padding does. We train in Saint Petersburg ourselves and recommend KAI to players past their first years of training. It comes in adult sizes and in sizes for children from the upper grades of primary school.
